Rendering in Alexandria

Alexandria mixes workers' cottages, terraces and old warehouses; in its Kingsclear, Cooper Estate and Alexandria Park heritage areas, face brick stays unrendered. Cement and acrylic rendering in Alexandria, with a free quote.

Before you render in Alexandria

What changes a rendering job here, each from the council plan, heritage register or data sheet it comes from.

  1. Heritage

    Three heritage areas

Parts of Alexandria are in the Kingsclear, Cooper Estate and Alexandria Park heritage conservation areas. Rendering or painting a house in them needs consent, and the Sydney DCP says existing face brick and stone walls are not to be rendered or painted.

For your render: We check your address against these rules before quoting, so the render, finish and colour suit what the council allows there. Cement rendering

  2. Houses

    Workers' cottages and semis

The State Heritage Inventory describes Cooper Estate as Victorian cottage semis, Victorian and Federation terraces and inter-war semi-detached houses, and Alexandria Park as one to three storey terraces and cottages. Many of these were built as face brick and are expected to stay that way.

  3. Heritage

    Converted warehouses

Alexandria's older factories and warehouses fall under a separate DCP rule if they are heritage items or in a conservation area: face brick and sandstone must not be rendered, painted or coated.

  • “Very professional and so helpful! Good communication and a fair price! Arrived nice and early! The rendering was done very well and looks great. The boys were very careful and made no mess! I have no hesitation in recommending Ali and his workers! I am definitely a very happy customer! Job: rear of house rendering plus a variety of rendering repairs in various places! Thank you so much!”
    ★★★★★Gregory Williams ·
  • “We loved dealing with Ali and his team. They are all lovely and really good renderers. We wanted something a little different (a thickly applied splattered style) in some parts of the house,”bagged” in other areas and smooth render in other parts…all was no problem, and expertly done. All fairly priced too. We would definitely recommend Finishing Touch Rendering. Stephanie and David.”
