Rendering in Ryde

Ryde sits outside any heritage conservation area, so most re-renders are exempt work; listed houses still need council consent, and bushland edges add ember rules. Cement and acrylic rendering in Ryde, with a free quote.

Before you render in Ryde

What changes a rendering job here, each from the council plan, heritage register or data sheet it comes from.

  1. Heritage

    Listed homes, no conservation area

Ryde has no heritage conservation area, so re-rendering or repainting an ordinary house is usually exempt work if it meets the Codes SEPP standards. Listed items are different: some are of State significance in Ryde LEP 2014, and changing their finish needs council consent.

For your render: We check your address against these rules before quoting, so the render, finish and colour suit what the council allows there. Cement rendering

  2. Heritage

No general heritage DCP in Ryde

City of Ryde's DCP 2014 has no general heritage chapter, so a DA on a listed Ryde house is judged under LEP clause 5.10 and a heritage impact statement rather than a fixed face brick rule. Expect council to ask how the new render or colour affects the house's significance.

  3. Bush fire

    Bushland edges

Parts of Ryde along its bushland edges are mapped bush fire prone, counting the buffer. On those lots, even exempt re-rendering must be sealed against embers and use equal or better materials (Codes SEPP cl 2.54(c)). Check your lot with the RFS tool before choosing a system.

For your render: On bush fire prone land the render or cladding system has to suit the block's bush fire attack level (BAL), with gaps sealed against embers. Polystyrene cladding

  • “Very professional and so helpful! Good communication and a fair price! Arrived nice and early! The rendering was done very well and looks great. The boys were very careful and made no mess! I have no hesitation in recommending Ali and his workers! I am definitely a very happy customer! Job: rear of house rendering plus a variety of rendering repairs in various places! Thank you so much!”
    ★★★★★Gregory Williams ·
  • “We loved dealing with Ali and his team. They are all lovely and really good renderers. We wanted something a little different (a thickly applied splattered style) in some parts of the house,”bagged” in other areas and smooth render in other parts…all was no problem, and expertly done. All fairly priced too. We would definitely recommend Finishing Touch Rendering. Stephanie and David.”
