Before you render in Artarmon

What changes a rendering job here, each from the council plan, heritage register or data sheet it comes from.

  1. Heritage

    Artarmon conservation area

Much of Artarmon is in the Artarmon conservation area (Willoughby LEP C1). Willoughby's DCP says original face brick must not be rendered, bagged or painted, and Part H 3.2 asks for the area's unpainted dark face brick to be kept.

For your render: We check your address against these rules before quoting, so the render, finish and colour suit what the council allows there. Cement rendering

  2. Houses

    Red-brown brick houses

The DCP describes the area as Federation houses in unpainted red-brown brick and Inter-war bungalows in unpainted brown to liver brick. On these houses the brick is the finish, so render is usually limited to the existing details, matched to them rather than spread over the walls.

  • “Very professional and so helpful! Good communication and a fair price! Arrived nice and early! The rendering was done very well and looks great. The boys were very careful and made no mess! I have no hesitation in recommending Ali and his workers! I am definitely a very happy customer! Job: rear of house rendering plus a variety of rendering repairs in various places! Thank you so much!”
    ★★★★★Gregory Williams ·
  • “We loved dealing with Ali and his team. They are all lovely and really good renderers. We wanted something a little different (a thickly applied splattered style) in some parts of the house,”bagged” in other areas and smooth render in other parts…all was no problem, and expertly done. All fairly priced too. We would definitely recommend Finishing Touch Rendering. Stephanie and David.”
