Before you render in Croydon Park

What changes a rendering job here, each from the council plan, heritage register or data sheet it comes from.

  1. Council

    Three councils

Most of Croydon Park is in Burwood Council, much of the rest in Canterbury-Bankstown and a small corner in Inner West. Each has its own DCP and heritage process, so which rules a re-render faces depends on the street.

  2. Heritage

Goodlet and Hillside (Inner West side)

The small Inner West corner holds two heritage areas: Goodlet, a 1919 subdivision of uniform face brick Inter-War California bungalows, and Hillside, mostly face brick Federation and Inter-War houses on an 1882 street layout. The Goodlet statement lists cement rendering of face brick as a change that detracts from the area.

For your render: We check your address against these rules before quoting, so the render, finish and colour suit what the council allows there. Cement rendering

  3. Heritage

Mitchell & Kembla and Launcelot conservation areas

On the Burwood side, the Mitchell & Kembla and Launcelot Street conservation areas take in a few streets. Burwood does not permit cement render over existing face brick, or paint over unpainted brick, on heritage properties.

  4. Heritage

Edge of the Ashbury conservation area

A small part of Croydon Park, on the Canterbury-Bankstown side, is in the Ashbury conservation area, where unpainted original brick must not be rendered, coated or painted and a materials and finishes schedule goes with any proposal.

  • “Very professional and so helpful! Good communication and a fair price! Arrived nice and early! The rendering was done very well and looks great. The boys were very careful and made no mess! I have no hesitation in recommending Ali and his workers! I am definitely a very happy customer! Job: rear of house rendering plus a variety of rendering repairs in various places! Thank you so much!”
    ★★★★★Gregory Williams ·
  • “We loved dealing with Ali and his team. They are all lovely and really good renderers. We wanted something a little different (a thickly applied splattered style) in some parts of the house,”bagged” in other areas and smooth render in other parts…all was no problem, and expertly done. All fairly priced too. We would definitely recommend Finishing Touch Rendering. Stephanie and David.”
