Before you render in Darling Point

What changes a rendering job here, each from the council plan, heritage register or data sheet it comes from.

  1. Heritage

    Neighbourhood heritage areas

Etham Avenue, Darling Point Road, Mona Road, and Loftus Road and Mona Road are small heritage areas in the suburb. Woollahra's controls say painting, bagging or rendering original face brick is not to occur, and reinstating face brick is encouraged.

For your render: We check your address against these rules before quoting, so the render, finish and colour suit what the council allows there. Cement rendering

  2. Houses

    Face brick and roughcast houses

The DCP describes Etham Avenue's high-quality Federation houses and Inter-War flats and houses, and Darling Point Road's Federation Gothic and Arts and Crafts houses, some with roughcast chimneys and face brick arches. The Loftus Road group is a set of intact Inter-War Mediterranean flats.

  3. Coast

    Harbour-edge upkeep

Darling Point's harbour edge is within 100 m of salt water. Render there needs more upkeep: Rockcote asks for its systems to be cleaned down every 12 months, and for painted or textured finishes close to the coast to be cleaned more often. Unitex specifies Class 4 or 316 stainless steel screws for polystyrene cladding in that zone.

  • “Very professional and so helpful! Good communication and a fair price! Arrived nice and early! The rendering was done very well and looks great. The boys were very careful and made no mess! I have no hesitation in recommending Ali and his workers! I am definitely a very happy customer! Job: rear of house rendering plus a variety of rendering repairs in various places! Thank you so much!”
    ★★★★★Gregory Williams ·
  • “We loved dealing with Ali and his team. They are all lovely and really good renderers. We wanted something a little different (a thickly applied splattered style) in some parts of the house,”bagged” in other areas and smooth render in other parts…all was no problem, and expertly done. All fairly priced too. We would definitely recommend Finishing Touch Rendering. Stephanie and David.”
