Before you render in Gables

What changes a rendering job here, each from the council plan, heritage register or data sheet it comes from.

  1. Bush fire

    Grassland bush fire prone land

Parts of Gables' housing land are mapped bush fire prone, most of it Category 3 grassland. The Gables DCP requires a bush fire assessment against Planning for Bush Fire Protection 2019 with any DA on that land, and exempt re-rendering must still keep embers out.

For your render: On bush fire prone land the render or cladding system has to suit the block's bush fire attack level (BAL), with gaps sealed against embers. Polystyrene cladding

  2. Council

    Zero-lot walls on small lots

On Gables' 300 to 450 square metre lots, the DCP allows a house to sit on one side boundary at ground and upper floor for up to 11 m. Re-rendering or patching that boundary wall means working from the neighbour's side, so access has to be arranged first.

  3. Council

    Rural transition land

Part of Gables is zoned RU6 Transition. On rural-zoned land The Hills DCP prefers recessive, less reflective earthy tones, and a highly reflective colour has to be justified.

  • “Very professional and so helpful! Good communication and a fair price! Arrived nice and early! The rendering was done very well and looks great. The boys were very careful and made no mess! I have no hesitation in recommending Ali and his workers! I am definitely a very happy customer! Job: rear of house rendering plus a variety of rendering repairs in various places! Thank you so much!”
    ★★★★★Gregory Williams ·
  • “We loved dealing with Ali and his team. They are all lovely and really good renderers. We wanted something a little different (a thickly applied splattered style) in some parts of the house,”bagged” in other areas and smooth render in other parts…all was no problem, and expertly done. All fairly priced too. We would definitely recommend Finishing Touch Rendering. Stephanie and David.”
