Before you render in Haberfield

What changes a rendering job here, each from the council plan, heritage register or data sheet it comes from.

  1. Heritage

    Haberfield conservation area

Most of Haberfield is in the Haberfield conservation area, which the LEP marks as a nominated area of State significance. Its own DCP chapter says face brick and common brick walls shall not be rendered with cement or plaster, and removing the outer skin or rendering an exterior wall is not permitted except in authentic restoration.

For your render: We check your address against these rules before quoting, so the render, finish and colour suit what the council allows there. Cement rendering

  2. Houses

    Three-part walls with roughcast

Haberfield walls are often in two or three bands: a base of rough-cut sandstone or mock ashlar (rendered brick), tuck-pointed face brick, and sometimes a roughcast upper section. Roughcast and ashlar render can be repaired to match; paint must not go on brick, stone or chimneys that are unpainted.

  • “Very professional and so helpful! Good communication and a fair price! Arrived nice and early! The rendering was done very well and looks great. The boys were very careful and made no mess! I have no hesitation in recommending Ali and his workers! I am definitely a very happy customer! Job: rear of house rendering plus a variety of rendering repairs in various places! Thank you so much!”
    ★★★★★Gregory Williams ·
  • “We loved dealing with Ali and his team. They are all lovely and really good renderers. We wanted something a little different (a thickly applied splattered style) in some parts of the house,”bagged” in other areas and smooth render in other parts…all was no problem, and expertly done. All fairly priced too. We would definitely recommend Finishing Touch Rendering. Stephanie and David.”
