Before you render in Lavender Bay
What changes a rendering job here, each from the council plan, heritage register or data sheet it comes from.
Heritage
Lavender Bay conservation area
Most of the suburb is in the Lavender Bay conservation area, with McMahons Point North covering more. The area statement lists rendered and painted face brickwork as uncharacteristic, and North Sydney's DCP does not permit rendering face brick unless it was original.
For your render: We check your address against these rules before quoting, so the render, finish and colour suit what the council allows there. Cement rendering
Houses
Mansions, churches and terraces
The DCP describes Victorian mansions, churches, and Victorian and Federation houses and terraces. A colour scheme must be lodged with any DA (Part C s9.4 P5).

Coast
Upkeep on the harbour slope
Much of Lavender Bay's harbour slope is within 100 m of the water, where render needs washing more often: Rockcote's baseline is a clean-down every 12 months, with coastal painted or textured finishes needing more. Polystyrene cladding there must use Class 4 or 316 stainless fixings under the Unitex manual.

Reviews
What our clients say
Courteous, tidy, protected the area from debris, cleaned up after and a good job
“Very professional and so helpful! Good communication and a fair price! Arrived nice and early! The rendering was done very well and looks great. The boys were very careful and made no mess! I have no hesitation in recommending Ali and his workers! I am definitely a very happy customer! Job: rear of house rendering plus a variety of rendering repairs in various places! Thank you so much!”
★★★★★Gregory Williams · “We loved dealing with Ali and his team. They are all lovely and really good renderers. We wanted something a little different (a thickly applied splattered style) in some parts of the house,”bagged” in other areas and smooth render in other parts…all was no problem, and expertly done. All fairly priced too. We would definitely recommend Finishing Touch Rendering. Stephanie and David.”
