Before you render in West Pennant Hills

What changes a rendering job here, each from the council plan, heritage register or data sheet it comes from.

  1. Heritage

    Listed Hills properties

On The Hills side, which covers most of the suburb, the LEP lists several properties. The Hills DCP says exterior face brick walls on heritage items are not to be rendered or painted.

For your render: We check your address against these rules before quoting, so the render, finish and colour suit what the council allows there. Cement rendering

  2. Council

    Hornsby side

The eastern part is in Hornsby Shire, with a few listed houses and a small edge of the Beecroft–Cheltenham conservation area. There Hornsby's DCP says paint should not go on original face brick, and painting previously unpainted surfaces needs consent.

  3. Bush fire

    Cumberland State Forest and bushland

Parts of West Pennant Hills' housing land, near Cumberland State Forest and the creek bushland, are mapped bush fire prone. On those lots exempt re-rendering must be ember-sealed and use equal or better materials.

For your render: On bush fire prone land the render or cladding system has to suit the block's bush fire attack level (BAL), with gaps sealed against embers. Polystyrene cladding

  • “Very professional and so helpful! Good communication and a fair price! Arrived nice and early! The rendering was done very well and looks great. The boys were very careful and made no mess! I have no hesitation in recommending Ali and his workers! I am definitely a very happy customer! Job: rear of house rendering plus a variety of rendering repairs in various places! Thank you so much!”
    ★★★★★Gregory Williams ·
  • “We loved dealing with Ali and his team. They are all lovely and really good renderers. We wanted something a little different (a thickly applied splattered style) in some parts of the house,”bagged” in other areas and smooth render in other parts…all was no problem, and expertly done. All fairly priced too. We would definitely recommend Finishing Touch Rendering. Stephanie and David.”
