Before you render in Bronte

What changes a rendering job here, each from the council plan, heritage register or data sheet it comes from.

  1. Houses

    Brown Street weatherboard bungalows

The Brown Street heritage area is mostly single-storey weatherboard Federation and Californian bungalows from about 1910 to 1925, with some Inter-War homes. Weatherboard walls aren't rendered, so render work here is on the brick homes.

  2. Houses

    Evans Street stucco cottages

Evans Street's heritage area is single-storey Victorian cottages and villas in rendered masonry, with stucco walls and render-capped chimneys. Patch repairs there should match the original render.

  3. Coast

    Salt air on render

Most of Bronte is within 1 km of breaking surf. Rockcote's maintenance guide asks for its render systems to be cleaned down every 12 months and says finishes close to the coast need cleaning more regularly than that. For polystyrene cladding, Unitex specifies Class 4 or 316 stainless steel fixing screws.

  • “Very professional and so helpful! Good communication and a fair price! Arrived nice and early! The rendering was done very well and looks great. The boys were very careful and made no mess! I have no hesitation in recommending Ali and his workers! I am definitely a very happy customer! Job: rear of house rendering plus a variety of rendering repairs in various places! Thank you so much!”
    ★★★★★Gregory Williams ·
  • “We loved dealing with Ali and his team. They are all lovely and really good renderers. We wanted something a little different (a thickly applied splattered style) in some parts of the house,”bagged” in other areas and smooth render in other parts…all was no problem, and expertly done. All fairly priced too. We would definitely recommend Finishing Touch Rendering. Stephanie and David.”
