Before you render in Bondi

What changes a rendering job here, each from the council plan, heritage register or data sheet it comes from.

  1. Heritage

    Imperial Avenue heritage area

The Imperial Avenue heritage area covers part of Bondi: Federation houses and semis from 1907 to 1915 and Inter-War flats. Waverley's DCP says original face brick and stonework there is not to be rendered.

For your render: We check your address against these rules before quoting, so the render, finish and colour suit what the council allows there. Cement rendering

  2. Heritage

    Woodstock Street heritage area

The Woodstock Street heritage area is a cohesive group of late Victorian Italianate and Federation homes. Previously unpainted surfaces there should not be painted.

  3. Coast

    Surf air and upkeep

Much of Bondi is within 1 km of breaking surf, and render that close to the sea needs more care: Rockcote asks for its systems to be cleaned down every 12 months, with coastal paintwork and textured finishes cleaned more often. If you are cladding in polystyrene, Unitex specifies Class 4 or 316 stainless steel fixing screws.

  • “Very professional and so helpful! Good communication and a fair price! Arrived nice and early! The rendering was done very well and looks great. The boys were very careful and made no mess! I have no hesitation in recommending Ali and his workers! I am definitely a very happy customer! Job: rear of house rendering plus a variety of rendering repairs in various places! Thank you so much!”
    ★★★★★Gregory Williams ·
  • “We loved dealing with Ali and his team. They are all lovely and really good renderers. We wanted something a little different (a thickly applied splattered style) in some parts of the house,”bagged” in other areas and smooth render in other parts…all was no problem, and expertly done. All fairly priced too. We would definitely recommend Finishing Touch Rendering. Stephanie and David.”
