Before you render in Camperdown

What changes a rendering job here, each from the council plan, heritage register or data sheet it comes from.

  1. Council

    Two councils, two DCPs

The larger part of Camperdown is City of Sydney, mainly the University of Sydney conservation area, and the rest is Inner West, under the Marrickville DCP. Both bar rendering or painting face brick in conservation areas, but the approval process and colour rules come from different documents.

  2. Heritage

    Camperdown Park terraces

On the Inner West side, the Camperdown Park conservation area is a group of mid to late 19th century two-storey terraces. Original render on those facades must be kept and repaired in lime mortar, not stripped or re-done in cement.

For your render: We check your address against these rules before quoting, so the render, finish and colour suit what the council allows there. Cement rendering

  3. Heritage

    North Kingston and Hopetoun–Roberts–Federation Streets

These two Inner West conservation areas reach into Camperdown. North Kingston is mainly 19th century workers' cottages and terraces; in Hopetoun–Roberts–Federation Streets the DCP lists unpainted, unrendered face brick on the 20th century houses as a feature to keep.

Courteous, tidy, protected the area from debris, cleaned up after and a good job
★★★★★Michael Liberman · · Google
  • “Very professional and so helpful! Good communication and a fair price! Arrived nice and early! The rendering was done very well and looks great. The boys were very careful and made no mess! I have no hesitation in recommending Ali and his workers! I am definitely a very happy customer! Job: rear of house rendering plus a variety of rendering repairs in various places! Thank you so much!”
    ★★★★★Gregory Williams ·
  • “We loved dealing with Ali and his team. They are all lovely and really good renderers. We wanted something a little different (a thickly applied splattered style) in some parts of the house,”bagged” in other areas and smooth render in other parts…all was no problem, and expertly done. All fairly priced too. We would definitely recommend Finishing Touch Rendering. Stephanie and David.”
