Rendering in Cremorne Point

Cremorne Point's Federation and Edwardian houses keep their roughcast and face brick, and harbour air means render on the point needs more upkeep. Cement and acrylic rendering in Cremorne Point, with a free quote.

Before you render in Cremorne Point

What changes a rendering job here, each from the council plan, heritage register or data sheet it comes from.

  1. Heritage

    Cremorne Point conservation area

Most of the suburb is in the Cremorne Point conservation area, mostly Federation and Edwardian houses with some Inter-war flats. North Sydney's statement for the area names "rendering and painting of face brick" as undesirable, so a plan to render an original brick front here will not get consent.

For your render: We check your address against these rules before quoting, so the render, finish and colour suit what the council allows there. Cement rendering

  2. Heritage

    Roughcast is original here

Rough cast render, shingled gables and face brick on sandstone are listed among Cremorne Point's characteristic walls. Where a house was built with roughcast, North Sydney's heritage controls ask for the original render to be kept and for repairs to match its texture.

  3. Houses

    Listed Inter-war flat buildings

Among the many listed items on the point are Inter-war flat buildings. Any change to their external finish needs North Sydney's consent, so a strata re-render starts with a heritage DA, not a quote alone.

  4. Coast

    Harbour air on three sides

With the harbour on three sides, many Cremorne Point blocks are within 100 m of the water, and render there needs more upkeep: Rockcote asks for its systems to be cleaned down every 12 months, and painted or textured finishes near the coast more often. For polystyrene cladding on those blocks, Unitex calls for Class 4 or 316 stainless screws.

  • “Very professional and so helpful! Good communication and a fair price! Arrived nice and early! The rendering was done very well and looks great. The boys were very careful and made no mess! I have no hesitation in recommending Ali and his workers! I am definitely a very happy customer! Job: rear of house rendering plus a variety of rendering repairs in various places! Thank you so much!”
    ★★★★★Gregory Williams ·
  • “We loved dealing with Ali and his team. They are all lovely and really good renderers. We wanted something a little different (a thickly applied splattered style) in some parts of the house,”bagged” in other areas and smooth render in other parts…all was no problem, and expertly done. All fairly priced too. We would definitely recommend Finishing Touch Rendering. Stephanie and David.”
