Rendering in Bilgola Plateau

Bilgola Plateau's treed blocks follow the Bilgola Locality's dark, earthy palette for DA work, and its ocean-side streets need more upkeep in the sea air. Cement and acrylic rendering in Bilgola Plateau, with a free quote.

Before you render in Bilgola Plateau

What changes a rendering job here, each from the council plan, heritage register or data sheet it comes from.

  1. Coast

    Ocean-side upkeep

The plateau's ocean-side streets are within 1 km of breaking surf; its inland streets fall outside that zone. Render near the sea needs more upkeep: Rockcote asks for its systems to be cleaned down every 12 months, and painted or textured finishes close to the coast more often. For polystyrene boards on those streets, Unitex calls for Class 4 or 316 stainless fixing screws.

  2. Council

    Bilgola Locality palette

The plateau is part of the Pittwater DCP's Bilgola Locality. For work that needs a DA, walls must be dark and earthy with low-reflectivity finishes; white, light, red or orange walls are not permitted, with lighter walls (never white) considered only in Landscaped Area 3.

  3. Houses

    Treed blocks and subdued finishes

Council describes the locality as mostly one and two storey houses on 550 to 950 square metre lots, diverse in style but sharing treed frontages and subdued external finishes. A bright render colour would cut against that described character.

  4. Bush fire

    Bush fire prone edges

Parts of Bilgola Plateau's housing land, mostly the buffer to the surrounding bushland, are mapped bush fire prone. Exempt re-rendering on those lots must be ember-sealed, and a polystyrene system needs a build-up tested for the lot's BAL.

For your render: On bush fire prone land the render or cladding system has to suit the block's bush fire attack level (BAL), with gaps sealed against embers. Polystyrene cladding

  • “Very professional and so helpful! Good communication and a fair price! Arrived nice and early! The rendering was done very well and looks great. The boys were very careful and made no mess! I have no hesitation in recommending Ali and his workers! I am definitely a very happy customer! Job: rear of house rendering plus a variety of rendering repairs in various places! Thank you so much!”
    ★★★★★Gregory Williams ·
  • “We loved dealing with Ali and his team. They are all lovely and really good renderers. We wanted something a little different (a thickly applied splattered style) in some parts of the house,”bagged” in other areas and smooth render in other parts…all was no problem, and expertly done. All fairly priced too. We would definitely recommend Finishing Touch Rendering. Stephanie and David.”
