Before you render in Sydney CBD

What changes a rendering job here, each from the council plan, heritage register or data sheet it comes from.

  1. Heritage

    Listed building by building

The CBD has almost no heritage conservation area; instead many listed heritage items sit in or on the edge of it, a good number of them rated of State significance. On a listed building the Sydney DCP asks for repairs in traditional techniques and materials and for significant elements not to be obscured, which rules out covering original stone or brick with new render.

For your render: We check your address against these rules before quoting, so the render, finish and colour suit what the council allows there. Cement rendering

  2. Coast

    Harbour-edge upkeep

Along Circular Quay and the Darling Harbour edge, buildings within 100 m of the harbour take salt air: Rockcote asks for its render systems to be cleaned down every 12 months, and for coastal finishes to be cleaned more often. For EPS cladding in that strip, Unitex specifies Class 4 or grade 316 stainless steel fixing screws.

  • “Very professional and so helpful! Good communication and a fair price! Arrived nice and early! The rendering was done very well and looks great. The boys were very careful and made no mess! I have no hesitation in recommending Ali and his workers! I am definitely a very happy customer! Job: rear of house rendering plus a variety of rendering repairs in various places! Thank you so much!”
    ★★★★★Gregory Williams ·
  • “We loved dealing with Ali and his team. They are all lovely and really good renderers. We wanted something a little different (a thickly applied splattered style) in some parts of the house,”bagged” in other areas and smooth render in other parts…all was no problem, and expertly done. All fairly priced too. We would definitely recommend Finishing Touch Rendering. Stephanie and David.”
