Much of Birchgrove is within 100 metres of the harbour, and render that close to the water needs more upkeep: Rockcote asks for its systems to be cleaned down every 12 months, and painted or textured finishes near the coast more often. Polystyrene cladding there takes Class 4 or 316 stainless steel screws under the Unitex manual, and the DCP also has a control for development visible from the water.
